I will note that it is funny that TC, who made a big deal of talking about how he wants a guy with speed in the 8 hole because of the bunting issue and getting a guy over the 2nd is tough when you have a plodder there, has hit Thole 8th more often than any hitter this year, even as Thole is off to a roaring start with the stick.

Its certainly the right spot for him, and I applaud that TC is looking past the bunt issue when filling out the lineup, but just more fodder for the "TC talks a lot" playbook.

BTW, Astros are truly throwing out a "Who's Who" lineup tonight. 3-4-5-6 of Lowrie, Buck, Downs, Bogusevic. Yup.

Attrition of the NL East continues, as Heyward sits today with "oblique soreness."

We all know how that typically goes.

For the Mets we know how that goes...not sure for other teams. Actually this is a good thing to observe...how another team handles an injury like this. Does day to day become week to week? Or is he back in tomorrow? And what is the medical update each day? Just to see if it really happens to anyone else except the Mets.

Its the flu for the Dude.

Not that I'm happy the big guy is feeling down, but thats good news.

My first major gripe with Terry Collins. He should know that those of us in weekly fantasy baseball leagues need this kind of information on Sunday night. Guys gotta get on twitter or something.

Francisco not available tonight due to a hamstring issue.

Also known as, Frank Francisco can't pitch on back-to-back-to-back days.

Frank Frank unavailable tonight with some sort of mild hamstring issue related to dehydration suffered in Denver.

TC says only one day, but as we know, TC says a lot of things.

If he needs to be disabled, I'd be interested to see both how they handle the closer role and who they would promote (the only 40 man bodies are Carson or Hefner). I guess Carrasco's activation could coincide with this, though, too.

Okay, maybe this is a stupid question, but why do managers ever tell the media that anyone is unavailable? The idea of letting your opponent know that you're down someone is just odd to me - even if it is just Frank Francisco.

It seems to vary when and how much they reveal.

My favorite is playoff hockey injury reports where a guy could be decapitated and they'd list as "an upper body injury".

Hard to believe only one hit so far and it was by Baxter who we were freaking out over when we thought he was starting over Duda

I certainly didn't know that R.A. Dickey apparently has the largest bat of all the Mets. Now get Sheriff R.A. some runs!
