Not to mention Trout is the far and away better defensive player. If it wasn't for the #1 pick draft hype that came along with Harper I think Trout would be getting a lot more attention. It seems like most baseball people think Trout is the better talent.

I like Trout more, overall. I think his offensive ceiling is less than Harper's but the speed, defense, and position could make him more value by WAR standards.

And yeah, if I'm a betting man, I'm taking Trout being a better hitter than Harper this year.

Trout will be a top 20 player in baseball.

I watched some of the Dodger/Nationals game on the MLBN last night.

Harper's legit. Quick bat through the zone. FAST. Shockingly fast up the line. Cannon for an arm.

It's not hard to see why he was drafted #1 overall.

Yah, he really put on a tools showcase last night.

I will just says this about Clemens: He was quick to throw his own wife under the bus to save his hide. That fits the profile of a perjurer

Did Roger lie under oath? All I know is he threw a bat at Piazza and claimed he though it was the ball-which still has not been explained

I'd say that's pretty much all the evidence we need. Assume the JD's in the house agree.

No offense to Harper, who will be a great player, but I too would rather have Trout. Harper is a year younger, which matters, but Trout is more ready now - he's already dominated high minors pitching, which Harper hasn't done yet. Short term, Harper will have to work some things out at the major league level, while long term, Trout should also have more defensive value.

I know Harper has been a bust, but I'd pick him up if the Nationals released him.

I see Pelf's Tommy John surgery was successful..

Good for Pelf.

Here's a question, though. Does anyone recall surgery on an athlete that wasn't termed "successful"?
