Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said Friday that it's realistic Ruben Tejada (quad) could be back within the week. Good news. Tejada has been in New York this week to get treatment on his injured right quad, but this would suggest that he's making progress. Look for him to go out on a brief minor league rehab assignment soon. Source: Adam Rubin on Twitter Jun 1 - 4:49 P

Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said it's "realistic" that Pedro Beato (shoulder) could be activated from the disabled Sunday. Beato, who began the year on the DL with rotator cuff inflammation, has a 1.17 ERA and 8/2 K/BB ratio over 7 2/3 innings between High-A St. Lucie and Triple-A Buffalo during his rehab assignment. He could provide a nice boost to a bullpen which ranks last in the majors with a 5.45 ERA. Source: Adam Rubin on Twitter
Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports that Jason Bay (rib) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Saturday with High-A St. Lucie. Bay, who is currently working his way back from a non-displaced fractured rib, has been playing in extended spring training games this week. Barring any setbacks, the 33-year-old should be ready to rejoin the Mets as a DH next weekend against the Yankees. Source: Adam Rubin on Twitter Jun 1 - 6:01 PM

Does this count as a positive development?

Adam Rubin @AdamRubinESPN Jason Bay finished 0-for-3 with 2 Ks as DH in Game 1 for St. Lucie. It was his first rehab game.
Looks like Bay is ready.
