Delmon Young and BJ upton are free agents next year too

Upton is interesting at age 27. Delmon Young is completely not.

Broxton will be more expensive after his re-start in KC. Not sure if SAndy's luck with relievers warrants much consideration.

I understand with Broxton but could stabilize this bullpen and push people down into roles they should be in

From the other thread (since its more appropriate here), Delmon Young and Josh Hamilton are nothing alike, except both have had substance abuse issues, which makes them part of a fraternity of like thousands of pro athletes.

Hamilton returned from a 5 yr hard-drug fueled tailspin to throw up a .900+ OPS. Delmon Young drinks too much, is a huge jerk and, most important for this discussion, is a really bad baseball player. He has a decent hit tool, but offers literally nothing else. Empty .280 hitter, terrible defender. Awful awful.

I don't even think Young belongs in the Majors, to be honest. Outside of one fluky offensive year in 2010 -- where he gave back a lot of value on defense -- he's been a miserable player. Hitting lefties decently may be his only redeeming quality.

I'd probably sign Elijah Dukes (wherever he is) before him.

BJ upton is interesting with the friendship and all but can he translate as a corner like his brother?

Why would he have to?

Is den Decker a better hitter than Kirk?

Upton's defense is elite, I wouldn't assume tht MDD will be superior.
