First 2 to Posey looked like strikes.

No comment on the line drive DP bay hits into to end the 9th? That's 3 straight innings they've left the sacs packed. I'm sure it won't come back to haunt them.

Good call!

David has been awful lately. I was really hoping this year would be the year he wasn't so streaky and weird......but i guess not.

He hasn't been that streaky this yr.

Not being "streaky" doesn't mean you never ever slump

As someone who's quick to point out when Parnell blows it, I have to give him credit for a nice, clean 9th inning in a game where he had no room for a mistake

He hasn't been as locked in as he was most of the year, but between Arizona and SF he probably had 4 or 5 balls that were either hit hard right at a fielder or he was victimized by a plus defensive play

Was at the game tonight and had such a great time. I really thought this was going to go down as our unluckiest loss of the season. The Mets should have scored at least 6 runs, but great pitching by Niese and Parnell kept the Giants at bay.

You had Valdespin's rocket up the gap that was somehow caught by Blanco, Bay's bullet that was hit perfectly into Penny's glove for a DP, the call on Thole that destroyed that inning, etc.

Would be pretty nice to take 3 out of 4 and we will if CY can keep the Giants in the yard tomorrow and the righty bats do some work against Zito.

LGM!

Don't look now, and I was one of the most vocal critics of the signing so this isn't an "I told you so!" by any means, but Jon Rauch may just be our best reliever at the moment. He's been pretty untouchable since the Russell Martin game, albeit his usage has been somewhat sporadic with the elbow and knee issues.

On the other hand, Ramon Ramirez, who everybody loved the acquisition of, has been bad all year and just doesn't look right. His K% is down from last year (but somewhat in line with overall career marks) but his BB% is wayyyy up and a career high. His velocity is way down, and getting worse as the season progresses.

That's baseball, Suzyn.

LOL :D

No matter how miserable it gets .. I can count on coming on this board and getting some laughs out of it.

I'm not sure if this was the case before the game last night...but as of right now, Niese has a higher wOBA than Bay.

Niese's career AVG/OBP: .147/.238 (186 PAs)
Bay's 2012 AVG/OBP: .157/.248 (132 PAs)

Its dang close. I'm confident Bay will make up the difference in the next 54 PAs.
