My man BT spittin the truth:

http://nyc.podcast.play.it/media/d0/d0/ ... 4HX1_4.MP3

I usually have a specific person for each team I root for that I always want to hear from. Someone who "get's it" and knows a ton about the team and the sport in general. And BT is my guy for the Knicks. It's just too bad ESPN has to shove their guys like Colin Cowherd and SAS down our throats pushing him out the door after 9 years as an intelligent sports host.

Yeah, and if you're using the "He's 19" logic, then I guess the best report a scout could give us is:

"I have no idea. He's a teenager. He may go through 5 arm surgeries between now and his 30th birthday. He may add a pitch. He may lose a pitch. He may put on 30 lbs and add velocity. He may put on 50 lbs and eat his way out of the league. I literally have no idea what he is going to be."

But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?

Good luck to the Zen Master. He's going to need it.

That is a good article. It is spot on in regard to Melo. He will kill it in a high post offense. He's a natural fit.

My view on the Triangle is that much like with other systems it takes a general commitment from everyone involved for it to work. It's more about spacing and allowing a triple threat option for (at minimum) a trio of offensive players by allowing enough space for there to be a lane to drive and enough space to create an open look if the defense over plays a man (double teams/gambles in a passing lane).

It is also designed to create a flow and chemistry between players without having to actually call out a play. Much like with other systems you need the right players as well as a closer for late in the shot clock. I think it's a good system but is overrated some by Phil's success when he had top players in his system and the best closer in the game each time he won a championship with both LA and Chicago.

Call me a skeptical Knick fan (better than my usual "pessimistic" Knick fan) but I have questions on how "great" this hire will turn out to be. Sure, it was better than the status quo. No question. But how are we to expect a first time exec to actually build a team when his expertise is on coaching, with goes hand in hand with his ability to communicate with people on a daily basis as highlighted in the piece by Ken Berger.

I'll be more hopeful now than I have been since 2000 when Dolan announced he was taking over even though he didn't know a thing about the sport (what a way to boost confidence within your fan base  ) but I'd like to know what the plan will be over the next 2-3 years before joining the "Phil's here!!!!!!" party.

YUP, glad I wasn't psyched about the Phil hire.

And now Phil thinking about coaching home games next year and keeping Rambis as coach for the road. LOL.

We have a circus again at the garden. Things never change under Dolan.

And for anyone to claim "Hey, Dolan hired someone and stood out of the way this time, can't blame him for this".

Really???? He didn't hire a legit GM, he hired a retired coach to become the lead executive with zero experience in an NBA front office. That's on Dolan, period.
