Hill just because of his physical raw tools probably gets a final shot in year 3.
He's maddening, but I don't want this to turn into another terance mathis situation where he becomes a stud elsewhere. I would give him 1 more shot.

Franco and Leiter meet with Mr. Jeff Wilpon everyday. Mr. Jeff Wilpon has decided that he’s going to learn how to run a baseball team and take over at the end of the year. Run for the hills, boys. I think probably all those baseball people will bail.

Another awful signing by Idzik. The payout is less than a million, but the guy is marginal at best as a starting corner and now he disappears. Nice bookend to Goodson, who disappeared for weeks with the team's blessing.
On edit: I saw another higher salary figure for Patterson, but it doesn't alter the point of my post

Was just going to draw this parallel.
For a guy who is so afraid of seemingly making a FA mistake that he hoards cap space like you get a gold star for doing so, the few forays he's made have, thus far, been absolutely atrocious.

My thoughts on the Jacoby Ford era:

Brian Costello @BrianCoz Jets have shown interest in free agent WR Jacoby Ford, according to a source. Ford played for Jets WR coach Sanjay Lal in Oakland. #nyj
Why?! What happened to James Jones? Does Jacoby Ford even improve our unit (which is saying a LOT)?

Gates I had put out of sight, out of mind but 'bah gawd' if he breaks camp on this roster next year, I'll scream. He is just dreadful. I don't think we need to rehash that again.
Said this in April.
Still doubt he cracks it, but I would've bet anything he was one of the first cuts...he's still here...

Not necessarily
Ivory was a steal. David Nelson off the scrap heap performed well for us last year. Salas is looking like a decent little find. Sudfeld has had a nice camp...we'll see how he does in the regular season.
Patterson hasn't even played a regular season game for us yet so let's not be so quick to judge. Goodson was a disaster
Idzik is building long term. He knows some guys need to be locked up going forward (Mo Wilkerson) this is not an absolute win now team where we must spend to the cap this year. Look at the wonderful job Idzik has done getting us OUT of cap hell last year and fielding a competitive team.
The Jets could've signed Revis, but I suspect the decision not to came from above Idzik.
He has been too patient regarding the secondary, that much is true. But we have to see how this plays out. Look at the direction the league is heading in. With the increased emphasis on illegal contact. Is it worth it to break the bank on a corner?

Jets should have lots of cap for next year, etc...helps with extensions coming soon for Wilk and Kerley.
still wondering about Hill and if he makes this roster...
if Hakim is KR, Saunders is PR, I don't think Hill is making it.
