Two years ago, Wilson was probably a better prospect than any of these prep arms we've signed so far. He obviously hasn't pitched much since but the talent seems to still be there, so getting him for $270k seems like more than a fair price.
Wilson drew increased attention as the Draft approached because he has one of the better curveballs in the Midwest and he's relatively signable for a high school player. Committed to Crowder (Mo.) JC, he's expected to turn pro.
When Wilson stays on top of his curve, it has true 12-to-6 shape with tight bite and approaches 80 mph. It lacks consistency but has obvious upside. He also can push his fastball to 93 mph with some armside run, generating downhill plane with his high-three-quarters delivery.
Wilson's changeup lags well behind his other two pitches and will have to improve for him to remain a starter. His control and command will require refinement as well. He's athletic and has a decent delivery.

Was a bit shocked to see him get so much at first, but now, it makes sense. Hopefully he's a player.
