I'm going to lose my mind if Thor comes back and re-injures himself. It's been stops and starts and stops, he's openly talked about being worried about re-injury. Forget "positive vibes", end his season.

I want Noah to pitch. It's ridiculous how much some of these guys are coddled. He says he feels great. I don't care if it's just one or two innings. He needs to face real batters.

He flat out noted this is an injury people often get re-injured. He's been "slowed" at least once. What difference is "real batters" vs. hitters in St. Lucie in a few weeks? The fact they are now saying he needs to be "reevaluated" on Friday should be enough to shut him down.

Does this give you confidence? C'mon.
The Mets are reportedly concerned about having Syndergaard return this season as they feel he needs to be completely healthy in order to come back, Ehalt reported on Sunday.
"I don't want to try to rush it and jump back out there too early because it is kind of a serious injury," Syndergaard told reporters. "I've also heard a lot of stories of people re-injuring themselves. I want to make sure that doesn't happen. I know the team is taking precautions, pull the reigns back a little bit. I respect that."

Being nervous is understandable. He needs to get back on the horse.

100% not being snarky but what evidence is there that 1-2 innings in a week changes anything vs. him facing guys in BP going into 2018?

That should be an absolute non-starter (no pun intended), you're not 100% now? Too bad, Thor already put his macho persona above the team once, see you in the spring.
Of course the Mets being the Mets he probably pitches and further delays his rehab.

I would agree EXCEPT if there's chance of reinjury which there seems to be. He's already been shut down and delayed. Enough with putting his own wants above health and what's best for the team.
