Bashlor not being protected = Bashlor DEFINETLY being taken in Rule V and potentially becoming another team's closer next year. He should be considered a prime candidate to be OUR closer by 2019....

I hope Bashlor is as good as some of you are saying he is. We could use a guy like that in 2018. Other pitchers have put up lights-out stats in A+/AA and not amounted to anything.

Jarrett Seidler @jaseidler Sep 9 More Ten pitches of New and Improved Tyler Bashlor was enough to convince me he's a MLB impact reliever

I would take Guillorme over any of those names. Might take Callahan over Uceta or Buatista as well. Wouldn't shock me if Oswalt is unprotected in favor of those arms, though. Oswalt is like Chris Flexen with even a bit less velocity.

Jarrett Seidler doesn't know jack. That said, Bashlor is a lock to get protected.

That sounds like a ding of Chris Flexen. The guy had less than 50 IP above A+. Unrealistic to have expected ML results right away. Back end profile hasn't changed at all. Yeah Oswalt similar pitchability profile
