It's been a pretty casual "rule" that once we go X polls where someone doesn't get a single vote they get removed. I wouldn't worry about Holderman too much, either he gets some support or he'll drop off.

-Unrelated but I'm curious where the relievers go

I’ll take the guy with advanced secondary pitches coming of TJ over the all-glove position player every day of thw week and twice on Sunday.

Can I nominate Colin Holderman to be removed from the poll? Just noticing now he's even on the list.

HeyNowHK nominated him.

Oh OK. Don't mind anyone as long as someone is going to vote for them. May need a rule before long that guys get cycled off after 2 times with no votes, though. Once you get past about #15 especially, there are going to be lots of possibilities without a lot separating them.

Kind of a weird guy to take up a crusade against. If the shoulder holds up, he's prob as good a sleeper pick for a breakout as any for next year (and maybe with as high a ceiling as any arm in the org.)

Vientos named #10 prospect in the GCL (THIS is the Vientos question they answer?)

Benny Blanco (The Bronx): Thanks for chatting. What did you think of Vientos and Greg Guerrero? Who is the better Mets prospect?

Ben Badler: Vientos. Guerrero's bat was supposed to be one of his best tools when he signed, but he's had trouble adjusting to pro arms.

That makes me feel better about the high Vientos ranking here.

I like Guillorme here. Just like that profile, good defense with strong contact ability, and the good body and athleticism. I've seen so many of these guys get labeled low upside, and then go on to exceed expectations. I remember the Mets losing Marco Scutaro on waivers, and then seeing him go on to put up 22.2 rWAR, 18.6 fWAR for other teams. Justin Turner was also supposed to be low upside.

I think in the near term, Guillorme will be a good bench player. But I don't think that's his ceiling. He has a handsy, flippy swing right now, which limits his power in favor of making contact. But I think if he keeps getting opportunities, he'll eventually lern to get more leverage into a more efficient swing. This is what coaches are for. I think those hands are hard to teach.

Had Badler said Guerrero was the superior prospect or it were debatable I'd feel really, really sick about this system (beyond what I already am). Guerrero is 19 in January (I'm not saying it's impossible a 19 year old gets it together) but career .236/.300/.274 career line (11/16 SB's) and was said to have a good hit tool but not expected to hit for much power. Vientos is 6'4 185 and is a full year younger than Guerrero. He hit .262/.318/.398 as a 17 year old in his pro debut .307/.340/.477 over his last 23 games. I'm a big time Badler fan but that was a waste of a question. Told us nothing about Vientos at all.

For me, it's Kay, Bashlor, Oswalt next. The rest gets tough.

I personally feel pretty comfortable with Bashlor as the clear #1 RP prospect in the system. After that I have no strong feelings and the "prospect experts" seemingly are all over the place in preference.

I didn't see him as a top 20 guy before the shoulder problem. Did anyone even have him ranked top 30 coming into this year? Why on earth would his stock be up?

I'll probably put Callahan somewhere in the top 20. His slider was looking pretty good, and I think he can help the pen next year. Some of the others (Rhame, Bautista, Nogosek) seem to have upside, but less polish.

Bashlor looks like he has legit backend stuff. Bulldog mentality too. I think (with improved command) he can be a late inning weapon
