If you’re taking Rosario off SS his career gets a lot tougher to make work. If you do that, it’s not for Luis Guillorme.
That’d be like concluding Diaz can’t be your closer moving forward so you install Tim Peterson in that spot.
Now you sound like Nitey. It’s not removing Rosie bc Guillorme is ‘waiting in the wings’, it’s bc you’ve decided that Rosie’s glove is below acceptable ML level. You can’t keep ‘building around pitching’ and then continue to handicap that pitching with players who can’t catch the ball. And their lineup just isn’t good enough to out-slug everyone.

I'm just saying that you "look at" Rosario in CF before you trade or sign a CF. If he picks it up quick, then I'd strongly consider that a move to make.
Then move Lowrie to SS, McNeil to 3rd and Guillorme to a bench role or bring back Hechavarríarriaia or Ruben Tejada (LOL, kidding about Tejada). Maybe they look at Gimenez mid year next year.
Before anyone says "Lowrie can't play SS", well, apparently, neither can Rosario.
How hard is it to look at a guy and see if he has a knack for CF. Rosario's bat would work in CF if his glove could play there.

The big problem with Rosario is with his bat
He was a top 5 prospect in baseball - not because he was going to be Ozzie Smith - but because he was going to be a top of the order above #2 type hitter
He has failed offensively - he has hit like a #8 hitter - if he was hitting .280/.340/.460 - with lots of doubles - no one would care that much about the defense
The constant narrative about his defense being this huge problem has turned into an overblown parody
He hasn’t been great but is there some great chasm between where he is defensively and where he was expect to be - average , maybe slightly above ??
Defensive analysis needs time - it also needs context
.712 OPS compared to an expected performance of .780-.800 is the bigger problem
A move to CF I’m not against especially if we had someone knocking on the door - but really we don’t have anyone of note knocking on the door
But ... Lowrie eventually needs to play somewhere so I’m ok with him playing SS / with McNiel at 3rd / Rosie in CF - just because that MIGHT be the way to best maximize value out of the roster especially if Rosie can actually play the position
But bottom line is Rosie needs to hit .. or he needs to go back to the minors and get his confidence back

This a flawed analysis. You're not watching games if you still think Rosie's defense is 'ok'. He's simply subpar in pretty much every facet of defense - range, hands, instincts, decision-making and arm. It's 2+ years and as Howie said it the other night, [paraphrasing] 'you have to believe this is what he's going to be in the field'.
So the analysis on Rosie is that both glove and bat have been a disappointment relative to expectations. If either were better, you could make the case to stay the course with him, but neither the bat nor the glove are good enough. So the thinking goes that if he can play a solid CF, then you could carry that bat. But you can;t really carry that bat at SS when he's constantly bleeding runs there.

"bleeding runs"? That is overblown analysis of his defense that I am talking about
but we are in agreement that he is under-performed in every aspect of his game
He should probably be in the minors at this point (the same way conforto went to the minors a couple of times and it wasn't a death nail to his career)
Have him try out CF in the minors and see how it goes -- I'm not against it
But mainly -- he needs to start hitting consistently or he is really not viable at either position
