New owner...Cohen... In the off-season, call the pads offer to take Machado and take Myers, cut Cano and move McNeil to where he should be. Sign Realmuto, Springer and a starter. A ton of money but just dreaming of a Alonso, McNeil, Rosario, Machado IF, Nimmo, Springer, conforto OF and Realmuto behind the plate.

Where do you think McNeil should be?
Second, but the above is a pipe dream that would never happen way too much money taking on and still leaving holes in the rotation and pen. I would like to see the Mets take the Dodgers model invest heavily in scouting and people, use their financial might to get great assets by attaching a bad deal from the other team. Similar to what Brodie should have been doing trading for Diaz while taking on Cano and sending Corey Oswalt as the center piece not Kelenic and Dunn

It will be nice when saving a few bucks isn't a consideration in every deal. Also, buying your way out of a mistake.
And keeping your own talent. Instead of having to pick which one to pay; Wright/Reyes, Degrom/Wheeler, Conforto/Noah...etc.

Yeah, and if you're using the "He's 19" logic, then I guess the best report a scout could give us is:
"I have no idea. He's a teenager. He may go through 5 arm surgeries between now and his 30th birthday. He may add a pitch. He may lose a pitch. He may put on 30 lbs and add velocity. He may put on 50 lbs and eat his way out of the league. I literally have no idea what he is going to be."
But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?
