They are not that good, but they are definitely the best in the division. My bet is that the Celtics will go deep into the playoffs as well. Some people are banking on this "team cohesiveness concept" and saying that the Celtics need to mesh first. Well, I do not think that will be as big an issue as people think. They have gathered a trio of all-stars that are incredibly unselfish players. They will "mesh" quicker than some people think, and they are all capable of making the other players better.
This whole notion about having a "complete team" and the Celtics just being a 3-man show is nonsense. The NBA is a star league...all you need is the right combo of 2 or 3 to get you to the top as we saw with the Bulls, Lakers, Rockets, Spurs, and the Heat. Sure, you will get that one team like Detroit a few years ago, but Detroit's victory was more about the Lakers' defencies than the Pistons' "completeness" (or whatever you want to call it). This is why the Nets and (especially) the Knicks will not beat out the Celtics in the division. If anyone has a chance, it is Toronto because they have the big-man superstar in Bosh and a couple others in the making that mesh well with him.

The Celtics are certainly not overrated, with Pierce, Allen and Garnett all still in their primes, they will easily win the Eastern Conference.
Pierce just turns 30 Saturday, Garnett is 31 and Allen is 32.
They'll put together a good 3 year run at the top of the conference.
Hell, Cleveland made it to the Finals with LeBron and friends.

and man will they be fun to watch as they unravel. when this iteration stiops working (and its not bringing a conference championship) they'll be awful.
Ainge saved his job and blew a nice decade for a pretty bit of paper.
NSJ can be fooled, but I can't remember the last time he was right about anything.
Please tell me the Falcons will beat the Giants on Monday. That will make me very happy.
