Doubtful that Hicksville ever played Melville. Melville is a big Suffolk high school, Hicksville I believe is on the smaller end in Nassau.

Maybe in the out-of-school summer circuit.

Wow, 36 steals and 7 homers.

Pop time needs some improving, but that can be taught with mechanics. The good news is that he sounds advanced as a catcher back there and seems to definitely have some offensive polish as well, in addition to just flat speed with the steals (although the 60 time doesn't sound great- probably more of just a good baserunner than a burner).

Nice pick, I think this draft has been more solid than some other.

Any word on how he's thought of by the scouting services?

I know this kid very well. Excellent HS player, not a prospect at this time. Not even close.
