Nick Evans singles in his 1st plate appearance to raise his batting average over .100....

Has anybody watched Luis Rivera a few times? Any scouting report?
Seems to have good discipline, but is he a decent hope? (A little old for the league) _________________ “A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” - W. Churchill

Buffalo scored a pair of runs in the 9th, but fell short, losing 3-2.
Nick Evans had 2 hits to rise his average to .110.

Sickels said "solid tools but was so bad last year that a quick start doesn't mean much yet" when he says "so bad" he means it.... hit .182 in the NYPENN last year _________________ Mike: how do u feel?
Reyes: I feel good bro
Im inventing a new stat its called GP/BP which means (Good player or Bad player) all you do is look at a players traditional stats.... OBP/SLUG, k's, walks, homers, extra base hits etc, then you watch him in the field and thats how you decide who is good or not, not some system where clear crappy players come out looking like roses.

Metro/Jdawg-
To clear up any potential confusion, the Luis Rivera Sickels spoke of was the OF at Brooklyn this year who was originally a 5th round pick out of Puerto Rico and has done nothing in his career thus far but is killing the NYP league thus far.
The Buffalo IF is an organizational, no hit middle IF type who has a nice avg for Buffalo but its very empty and has never been thought of as more than org filler (younger Valdez type).
Not sure which one each of you were referring to, but figured I'd clear that up bc there is potential confusion there. |
