They should at least talk to his agent, but no conversations should last more than four hours.

What "unit" is he referring to?
And extend Dickey before we can't afford him. With each passing start, his cost is going up. I think we could have secured an extra year or two at bargain rate earlier this season. This guys seems to have really figured out how to take the knuckleball to the next level.
He's talking about the interview after Johan's no-hitter. Apparently, someone was showing their stuff coming out of the showers and the any cam caught it by accident.

Dickey is already better than Wakefield ever was, but just for comparison, Wake never made more than $4.7m in a season (and pitched until he was 44).

I'm thinking Dickey could get himself $15-20M over 2 years if hits the FA market. Probably could have extened for around $5-6M per at the start of this season. His price will just keep increasing as this season progresses.

He's not a free agent until after next year. There's plenty of time and anything could happen.

That's insane. Hamels gets that money.
Plus, and I wanted to say it on that silly trade 'em while they're hot thread, Dickey is more than just the veteran knuckleballer- he's the team's zen-master. I just do not see him leaving or the team willingly letting him leave just because there is some pitching depth in the minors.

Good luck signing Hamels for $7.5-10M per year....
