Good for Schwinden, seriously.
Next topic.

schwiden is no big loss but hurts depth... does he have to be in the bigs now?
The mets moved him off the 40, so any team with room on their 40 had the ability to claim him for their 40. (same way we claimed Baxter last year). I'm a little surprised he was taken, but, as said above. Not a big loss.

This will make it a little easier for me, since I kept confusing him and Hefner all season.

I know my first post came across as flippant, but I think it's good for a player to go to a new organization where he gets a bit of a reset.
I posted in another thread that Schwinden's success in AAA told me he should at least have some decent outings in the big leagues.
I think his struggles with the Mets probably piled up on him to the point that he took the struggles to the mound every time.
Now he gets a fresh start and that could be a big help.

Honestly, his chances with Santana, Niese and Dickey already in the fold, Gee ahead, and Wheeler, Familia and Harvey right behind were not good for more than a spot start or two going in to 2013.
That ignores the presences of Batista, Hefner and Young.
