I'm actually liking Hef in the pen role. Maybe his stuff plays up just enough there for him to survive?

He could be our Dan Wheeler. The guy who can throw strikes, but didn't miss quite enough bats as a SP.

I think he's Jon Rauch. I don't really see a ton of difference there at all except Rauch leans on the slider more and the curve is an occassional show-me, while Hefner uses his slow curve more and only occassionally his slider.

Throws strikes - best you can really say about both of them. Its not completely un-useful, though.

with the walks this team likes to hand out, a "like a dan wheeler" type in our pen comforts me. Its a start.
