Wouldn't be surprised if Dickey doesn't pitch until late in the game, and only gets one inning.

I predict he will be the 2nd pitcher used by La Russa.

If that ends up being the case, I'll end up being even more angry. If La Russa's main complaint against Dickey was that he wasn't sure how the catcher would respond to him, wouldn't it have been best for him to start and get the maximum amount of warmup time?

Hopefully he'll make it up to David and let him be the D.H.

I want ma boy to play 3B. Even if that means 2 innings only. PLEASE NO DH for Wright!

You'd rather watch him play the field then get maybe 4 AB's? If that is the choice, i'm all in for DH for DW.

I hate the DH all together and wish they would eliminate it from baseball. However that will never happen.

Thank God the ASG is in a NL park next year. Home of International Soccer

Eric Karros was on WFAN this morning and made what I thought was a pretty good point. If you start Dickey and he faces most of the order, he could mess them up for at least the next AB, especially if he's relieved by a hard thrower.

Karros didn't say this, but I guess the biggest possible downside would be that Dickey's knuckler is flat and he puts you in a big early hole.

LaRussa is an imbecile.

His first excuse was that he'd save Dickey for when Molina was in the game, so the best "equipped" Catcher could catch him. Well, Molina won't be there.

Aside from the fact that Dickey has Cain beat in every statistical category, and is clearly the person who earned the start, there's this:

-If Dickey started, he would've had tons of warmup time before the game WITH THE CATCHER WHO WILL BE CATCHING HIM.

LaRussa is a moron, this is a joke, and that's the bottom line.

Well in fairness, since it is the ASG, he could have the 2nd catcher go down and warm up Dickey then bring them in together. Same effect.

In fairness, Pablo Sandoval would give up his starting spot to David Wright.

LaRussa is a prick. And I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't use Dickey at all, and gave Wright one AB or none. I could very easily see that piece of garbage letting fat slob unworthy Sandoval get 2 AB's, then bringing in Chipper for 2 AB's..screwing Wright in the process.
