I don't see how it isn't Harvey at this point.

Now that his name is out there as the only alternative to Batista, how can anyone justify letting Batista have that start after his performance last night?

I suppose Harvey would have to pitch as badly as Batista during his start Monday, maybe going 4 innings and walking 10 guys - to not get the promotion.

I'll be at the game Saturday. If Batista is the starter, I'll come through the gates for my Edgardo Alfonzo bobblehead, then turn around and leave.

Harvey and Mchugh should be the call ups, not harvey and wheeler.

Out of those three, Mchugh has the chance to do well right away. Cant see how wheeler gets a mention here. Aside from his "number 1" status as mets prospect.

Soooo, anyone know how I can get SNY in Michigan?

Do SNY games show up on MiLB.TV live?

I said earlier in the year I started thinking Wheeler would arrive before Harvey,.

Thats obviously not going to happen now, but I don't think he's that far behind. He has 3 pitches he can get guys out with and a truly special fastball velocity and movement wise. Thats more than Harvey.

Innings limits are really his big hurdle right now.

Also, convenient timing and whatnot, but I'm really all done with Chris Young. Didn't want him signed in the first place, didn't want him brought up, but had to shut my mouth for a while as he magician'ed his way through some lineups again initially. But yeah, the effectiveness will finally start to ctach up with his process and then surely he's going to go down with injury soon.

I know its not the smartestt thing in the world but if we lost Young and Batista and replaced them with Harvey and Wheeler, I'd be very very very happy.

I can't imagine Wheeler having more than 35-45 innings left in his season. Career high is 115, he's at 92.2

I'll take talk of Wheeler coming to the bigs more seriously when they advance him to Buffalo.

Oh, and I take talk of promotions and demotions more seriously when it comes from Sandy than I do when it comes from TC

McHugh JUST had his first good outing in AAA, he spoke openly of needing to make adjustments on his blog, I don't think he's ready.

With Wheeler, you hope he gets by on pure stuff while figuring it out on the fly, McHugh actually needs to *pitch*, and he needs to adjust to AAA first, I think.

I don't want to give TC too much credit, but it crossed my mind when I saw his quote that he might be holding out a verbal carrot to motivate Wheeler to resume dominating in AA (and hopefully soon, AAA).

Zack heard there was an opening in the rotation.

Uh... his start before this one, he'd resumed dominating AA. I don't think he needed a carrot.

Honestly, in some ways, Wheeler's stuff makes him more ready for the majors than Harvey. I also think that the jump from AA to the majors is not a whole lot more than AAA to the majors. (We've argued the point before, no need to rehash...just my opinion).

At this point, I know that there are some conservative guys out there (I am not one of them)...I think bringing up a Wheeler or Harvey now gives the club a little boost infinitely more than running Batista out there, who his team-mates, as loyal as they might be, know is a lesser option.
