After a dismal 2013-14 season, the NY Islanders have completely retooled their roster with the additions of Jaro Halak and Chad Johnson in goal, Mikhail Grabovsky and Nikolai Kulemin at C and Wing respectively and, today, the additions of Johnny Boychuk and Nick Leddy from the Bruins and Hawks respectively.
Its a pretty serious departure from prior years when the team was a perennial salary cap floor organization and, subsequently, playoff team only once in the past seven years.
With the most recent additions, they'll skate a pretty solid defensive corp to man the blueline in front of two capable netminders, to go along with a pretty strong group of forwards headlined by John Tavares and Kyle Okposo.
Should make the race for the playoffs far more interesting for Isles fans...and a team to watch for fans of other clubs.
