Bashlor just made Cavan Biggio look silly on a 97 MPH fastball.

McNeil has 4 hits so far. 4 for 5. Alonso 1 for 3 but 2 more walks. I think they're afraid to pitch to Alonso, but they're still apparently pitching to McNeil.

2 homers for Kevin Taylor who's got a quiet 10 game hit streak going. 14 for 35 in that stretch.

Fermin with a deep fly ball that ended up a 3B. Still like the pop in the bat for a guy who's played both SS and CF.

Bashlor with a pretty impressive 2 innings. Walked one, only one fastball got squared up decently, was mixing in the slurve-ish breaking ball more often than usual and it looked pretty good. Surprised he hasn't been called up in the bullpen carousel since I think he's probably the most talented.

Jeff "no power" McNeil just destroyed a ball to deep right-center. The CF and RF didn't move.

This is a full-on breakout, guys.

Thing is, at 26 years old, he's probaly pretty near to his peak. They really ought to call him at some point this year and see what happens. In 84 days he'll be 3 full years older than Daniel Murphy was when he made his Mets debut. But he's breaking out similar to what Murphy did at 23 in AA, except with the power Murphy didn't show until he got to Washington.

I agree, but there's no point to calling him if he won't play. Phil Evans can come up for a week and get 4 PAs in 6 games, cause he's (sorry Heynow) a borderline non prospect. I think they want McNeil to play every day, especially with the time he missed. He should be added to the roster in September though, or if there's an injury but I wouldn't add him until then.

Dom Smith is 2 for 2 with a double, walk and 3 RBIs.

PJ Conlon is through 5 innings, 2 runs on 3 hits (a Jayson Werth homer). 79 pitches

5-2 Vegas, top 6

And Dom cranks another run-scoring double, this one to left-center.

Now 3 for 3 with 2 doubles, a walk and 4 RBIs.

Dom with a "don't call it a comeback" game

3-3, 2 doubles, a walk and 4 RBI

Hushes up the Alonso crowd a tad, it's about time Dom gets hot now too...We will see.

Yeah, I think Frazier could be back tomorrow even, I think Evans is a short term move. And Asdrubal has been one of the best players on the team, so he stays at 2B. I do think they ought to cut Reyes soon, but Guillorme might be the better guy to take that bench role, backing up SS.
