So, not too surprising I don't think, the early lean seems to be mostly slot bonuses for rounds 4-10.

The roughly half-mill saved on Kelenic, leaves us really just wondering what SWR and Cortes are fighting for. I feel like a flat mill for SWR is a nice round number a 17 year old wants to hear, especially one projected more third to fourth round, and saves us some cash. On the other end Cortes has a lot of leverage.

For simplicity I say SWR and Cortes combine for respective slot, and we have the Kelenic half mill, plus 5% overage, to throw at Mejia and Clarke. While I don't think they are the quality of your standard 500K draftees.... it isn't my money, so there's that.

How did Smith get full value there. That was an easy banking of $75K or so.

Oca, I sort of understand.

Keep in mind that in this draft era there are not many surprises. A couple of these guys may have gone sooner if they hadn't priced themselves out of under-slot territory, and been immediately wiped off the board for teams utilizing that strategy.

That might have been a typo. I notice it's not there now.

I think you are looking at Saul Gonzalez, who I added to the list below Manny Rodriguez since he affects the budget.

If my math is correct we are $605,300 under budget at the moment.

Make that $732K under after the Megill report. Still waiting on Rodriguez.

I was. Lots of money to entice the Clarkes, Darcys, etc...

Without any more savings, they could offer Clarke, Darcy, Palmer each $320,000 and not go over the budget.

By my calculations the Mets are $628,200 under bonus allotment after the announced signing amounts of Gilliam, Meyer and Rodriguez. But I'm afraid the majority of that will go into the signings of Cortes and Hill instead of trying to bring in Clarke, Darcy and Mangum.

How much do we have to spend before we are penalized with losing a draft pick?
