Gonzalez again. He is terrible...but he's a veteran presence who could turn it around with a snap...oy.

I wonder if those veterans were the worst thing you could saddle a first year manager with. I still think Bruce was an issue in the clubhouse and we know Gonzalez was.

It's possible that the Mets get Cespedes, Flores, and Familia back over the next week (Familia as soon as eligible).

They need that depth, and hopefully that can help them start to get back into the race.

I doubt the Mets would have brought Bruce back if he was a problem in the clubhouse. They value personality more than most teams, and Bruce is not the once-in-a-generation type talent that you would bring back at the risk of team chemistry.

Bruce is signicantly underperforming. He should be counted on for decent production and to provide protection in the lineup, but he's off. I imagine his feet problems are affecting him, but he keeps playing, so who knows. If he was hitting like he did in 2016, then the Mets may have won several games over this latest losing stretch.

This is just bad:

Code:
A: .241/.304/.380/.684
B: .247/.279/.359/.637
C: .219/.340/.365/.705
D: .222/.300/.333/.633

That's your 1B, SS, CF, and RF. Yikes...

And he got on base, which barely anyone else besides Nimmo has been doing lately.

Lets not go crazy here. It was an infield single.

Would be shocked if the Mets get more than 3 hits today. 8-0 Yankees final. Meek Mickey sits befuddled
