I usually avoid making IGTs due to the Jdawg jinx. They cannot get any more jinxed, so I am safe.

Conforto
Frazier
Nimmo
Bruce
Plawecki
Smith
Rosario
Guillorme
deGrom

7 of 9 came through the system; Frazier from Jersey. Hitting trends are too depressing. Dom has hit in 1 straight...that's the extent of the high-lights...even Nimmo is struggling a bit in June.

Should be the best defensive lineup the Mets have put out there in some time (infield-wise).

Last nine starts for Jake... 0.81 ERA, and nothing to show for it. BABIP is .297 so he's not getting lucky...he's just that good.

If deGrom gives up more than -1 runs, then the Mets might lose this one.

If he gives up 0 there is probably still a 50% chance they lose.

I crunched the numbers. It's greater than 50%.

Albies leads off the game with a HR, now that he's feeling the long ball swing again. deGrom goes 8, strikes out 10, Mets lose 1-0 on three hits total. Two by Jay Bruce. What did I miss?

No way Bruce gets two hits.

If Luis Guillorme is starting over Jose Reyes - and don't get me wrong, he should be - you cannot say with a straight face that Reyes is a viable member of the team.

Guillorme is a late inning defensive replacement, so Reyes, even on a day where the 1 position he can still play is open, doesn't have a role other than maybe the 3rd PH'ing option.

Come on Mets.

Yes, I saw the 1 play in which he made 2 errors.

The point is that you can't play him at SS or 3B. So 2B is the only real spot you can play him in the field while he is rostered. And they're unwilling to do that. So again, how is he "viable"?

Right, my point was that he's demonstrated that he isn't viable at 2B either. There is no definition of 'merit' that would include Reyes on the roster. That's not really a rash decision based on a small sample. His skills have eroded quickly and he's just not a viable MLer. It doesn't take much to see that.

But again, we almost all lamented the decision to bring him back at the time. And we know that this FO has a difficult time admitting their mistakes and moving on. So they will make the manager suffer with this situation for a while longer apparently, just because...

They won't even use Reyes in pinch running situations. They have no clue what to do with him, other than using him as a pinch hitter when he's the last man on the bench and using him to rest other infielders.
