PASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I would imagine Gimenez or Rosario, Peterson, Alonso and something else.

That's a fools errand.

"HUGE"

Heyman was on with Joe and Evan yesterday and mentioned Noah as the ask from the Marlins.

Yeah, and if you're using the "He's 19" logic, then I guess the best report a scout could give us is:

"I have no idea. He's a teenager. He may go through 5 arm surgeries between now and his 30th birthday. He may add a pitch. He may lose a pitch. He may put on 30 lbs and add velocity. He may put on 50 lbs and eat his way out of the league. I literally have no idea what he is going to be."

But thats not what these guys are paid to do, nor what we are looking for them to do, right?

How much money do you think this team will add to the payroll? That's the question I'm interested in.

Especially good question if they have to trade away a ton of ML/ML-close talent to get anyone of any impact in here via trade.

Also, Mets should remain in the race for Realmuto. No real reason to think the Marlins make a good trade here. Mets have the prospects to get it done.

I would give significantly less for Realmuto than they got for Stanton or Yelich.

That the Marlins can't afford to get laughed at again isn't my problem.

The Yelich trade was far from a laugher, and one that would be difficult for us to match, mostly due to the fact we don't have a top-20 guy in Brinson. They gave up their 1,7, and 9.... so by our list that's Gimenez, Peterson, Szapucki. They also gave up Yamamoto, who was unranked but producing, maybe a Carpio fits here? That group feels light to me, as the Brewers had a real good system at the time.

I guess the wildcard for me is Alonso. If the Marlins rate Alonso way up above Gimenez and want to replace Andres in the deal, then things get a bit more interesting. As much as I want Alonso to be our next annual 30+ bomb dropper, if that type of deal got done I believe we would not only get better, but the team would start to make a lot more sense on paper.

Gutting the farm for a guy that could be reasonsbly approximated with just money is not smart.

Signing Grandal would be much better than gutting the farm for Realmuto.

Have to give up a draft pick for Grandal. I think they should go for Ramos instead.

I think Grandal is worth a pick and will be more solid overall going forward, but either is preferable to losing assets for Realmuto.
