Rookie maximums for at-bats (130), games pitched (30) or innings (50) in the major leagues"

If the 2 leaders are within 5% of each other, or the leader has less than 35% there will be a run-off between the top 2. If a run-off results in a tie the tiebreaker will be vote total in the previous poll, we will continue to "go back" in the polls until there is a clear leader.

*Jeff McNeil is ineligible
*Chris Flexen is ineligible

1) Andres Gimenez (SS) AA 19/37 votes- 51%
2) Peter Alonso (1B) AAA 24/36 votes- 67%
3) Jarred Kelenic (CF) Kingsport 31/36-86%

Here is where I make my pitch for David Peterson

He has an absurdly good groundball rate

The current best groundball machines at the MLB level didn't have as good a groundball rate as DP does in the minors (I looked)

My MLB comp is Dallas Keuchel
Great Groundball rate
Great control / Solid K-rate
(not every comp is perfect but you are really nitpicking if you don't see the significant similarities)

DP's exceptional groundball % makes up for a less than eye popping K-rate

But the K-rate is not really anything to be ashamed of. an 8 K-rate with a 2 walk rate is an exceptional ratio

2 HR's allowed in 131 innings

From a statistical standpoint he is very polished

Yeah .. the upside might not be an ACE

#3 starter is the most likely projection

But he has got a great floor as a solid backend starter or an excellent lefty out of the bullpen who can induce groundball doubleplays

We have some nice looking position players at the top of the system. Love seeing that.

Comes down to upside/floor for me. Multiple people have placed "superstar" upside on Mauricio and I think #3 starter is probably a best case situation for Peterson. As I said I have him next (although I think the SP group is all pretty bunched up) but switch hitting 17 year old SS with positive reports is too much for me to pass on.

I'd be surprised if this doesn't end in our first run-off

In fairness (and not speaking to Adolph specifically... though BP had him top 15, or one of their guys did) just being nominated this high doesn't mean a whole lot.

I went with Kilome. I think he's already our best SP prospect, by a hair, but with a lot of remaining upside to be had. Vientos is next for me, and while I wish the defensive reports were a little stronger, I'm going to give him till the ripe old age of 20 to figure it out a bit.

you have to admit tho, he had a really cool name. I think that was half his value at the time.
