Rookie maximums for at-bats (130), games pitched (30) or innings (50) in the major leagues"

If the 2 leaders are within 5% of each other, or the leader has less than 35% there will be a run-off between the top 2. If a run-off results in a tie the tiebreaker will be vote total in the previous poll, we will continue to "go back" in the polls until there is a clear leader.

Check out this link to the Fall Star Game and see the highlights from Alonso

https://www.mlb.com/news/west-edges-eas ... =153494546

A beastly homerun off a 103 MPH heater

But more impressively, IMO, was the great diving stop he made off a really hard hit ball

Supposedly he couldn't make a scoop off a low throw from Gimenez in the 9th which led to the winning run. I wish they had video of that but they don't.

The diving play though gives me hope that he has the athleticism to make some really great plays that will make up for some of the poor play (like not being able to make consistent scoops from throws in the dirt)

Uh... Thompson here for me, but I also like Cortes and Sanchez at this point.

I think some people are overestimating Cortes. Unless his bat steps up, he's not very prospecty.

I get people's issues with Cortes, but I also still think that there's an unusual level of "see, I was right, it WAS an awful pick!" kind of desire to be "right."

Now, I admit I'm probably the highest on him here, but I'm totally OK with him at the twenty-ish mark, so I don't think him being overrated is the problem. I think him falling past 30 is much more likely to be an awful ranking, than the opposite.

Lack of secondary skills definitely hold him back from being higher, but we're at the point on the list where anyone with any flashes of bat talent is a worthwhile vote.
