I’d move him down to 15

I put him at 14. Years ago I use to have confidence that pitchers that get TJ come back good as new and sometimes better. But lately it seems like it's taking these pitchers a lot longer to get back to where they were before TJ if they make it back at all.

This really hurts the Mets as I feel both Kilome and Dunn were decent back ups in case some one in the rotation gets hurt. Without those two it's right back to the parade of soft tossers.

There's a fun mathematical quirk here. If you put him behind SWR (which is where I come down), that makes him #12 not #13 because 8-12 each move up a spot.

I think there's a pretty well defined top 12 and starting at Santana there's a bit of a drop-off.

Since our rankings are not done yet ... I think it makes sense to re-rank him at 13 based on this poll

I'm shocked how many people voted to significantly drop his ranking based on the TJS. And I'm particularly shocked most people would rank him behind SWR, a rookie-ball pitcher who himself profiles as someone somewhat likely to require TJS at some point in the next few years.

I'd leave him where he is. He is an interesting talent.

I think we underweight the potential negative impact of TJS

There are so many prospects that we had hopes for who never came back from the surgery

And its not like Kilome can afford to lose development time

He was very good in his 7 starts with us -- but his overall stat line is pretty underwhelming for someone placed in the top 10 of a system - the bulk of his value is based on those physical tools and the upper 90's fastball -- and those take a hit with this surgery until he proves healthy again

moving him down at least 3-4 spots makes sense

In all fairness to Kilome, the reason his numbers were so pedestrian is that he pitched in one of the most offensive ball parks in all of the minors.
