Rookie maximums for at-bats (130), games pitched (30) or innings (50) in the major leagues"

If the 2 leaders are within 5% of each other, or the leader has less than 30% there will be a run-off between the top 2. If a run-off results in a tie the tiebreaker will be vote total in the previous poll, we will continue to "go back" in the polls until there is a clear leader.

Sticking with Uriarte. Prob the best C prospect after Alvarez and a couple yrs closer. And possibly a solid prospect in his own right. 2019 break out candidate.

Patterson probably deserves better than #35 if he's #15 in MLB.

You are really overrating the value of that list. They have Newton at 17 behind guys like Humphreys and Lindsay. They have Luis Santana.. at 27!!!! Nogosek for some strange reason ahead of Hanhold... Gregory Guerrero is ahead of Santana!! He's ahead of Will Toffey.. at 24!!!... SWR.. is #23.....again behind Gregory Guerrero and David Thompson.... the list is awful.

If the Mets #27 prospect is Luis Santana, #24 is Toffey, #23 is SWR and #17 is Newton they are absolutely LOADED... and they are not.

Valdez is #18 on that list, got a bonus worthy of a round 2 prospect, and unlike Patterson has shown nothing to convince me that he didn’t deserve top 30 prospect status... yet he may not even make top 40 on our list...

He probably deserves better :)

Valdez was the guy I considered voting for here in addition to Patterson. Guys who haven't played an inning of ball yet are tough to rank though. I'm fine with Valdez in the 30 range because he hasn't played yet. I like being low on guys like that.

I think Patterson might surprise some people when he shows up at spring training and make the roster from day 1. Good athlete and he's been waiting for an opportunity. Kind of a hunch, I only read that one report and watched the video.

Jeff Paternostro also liked Patterson, said he was around 20 in the Colorado system last year.

As a sidebar, if he makes the roster, he'd probably be someone they look at to pitch an inning or two during long extra inning games like Plawecki did last year. He was a relief pitcher in college.

Mets sign Dario Pizzano, LHed hitting OFer from M's org. Will be 28 and good contact hitter but 5 straight years in AA. Kaczmarski clone I suppose.

On the Patterson and "where to put him" debate, unless people are absolute sticklers for their opinions, the truth is there's usually not a great deal of difference between a 15-20 ranking and a 30 ranking. If you look honestly at MLB output or even rankings 1 year later, the 15 range and the 30 range can be pretty interchangeable.

But, as I recall, people fussed when Patrick Kivlehan was sold to the diamondbacks last year and he was outrighted on October 10. The mets could have picked him up for nothing but a spot on the 40 and they didn't. They did pick up Patterson, so if you trust the mets organization, and you were upset about losing Kivlehan last year, you should be happy about having Patterson now.

I guess if you think you're smarter than the mets, then that argument doesn't carry much weight.

I'd still put Patterson around #18 I think. It's not just the MLB ranking but Jeff Paternostro liked him too.

The article is behind a paywall, but it's dated 11-29-2017 . . . 1 year old.

There's two authors though, Paternostro and Wilson Karaman. it could have been Karaman who liked him.
