We know that the pen will definitely be

Diaz
Familia
Gsellman
Lugo

What are the other four arms people predict will be a part of the pen to open the season...

I am going with Drew Smith, Zamora, Justin Wilson and Hanhold.

Edit: I forgot Hanhold.

Via Tim Britton

The Mets are currently slated to have an Opening Day bullpen of six league-minimum guys and Jeurys Familia, paying them about $12M.

Most teams have about 30%-60% of their roster league minimum guys. Nothing wrong with that, or, more accurately, what's wrong with it is baseball's system of paying guys either too much or too little based on interest when they reach free agency.

Nimmo, Rosario, Alonso and McNeil could all be starters for us year and all 4 are league minimum.

Bashlor
Tim Peterson's still on the 40.
Dowdy (Rule 5)
Lockett has a shot but probably projects as starter depth
Santiago is off the 40 but pitched OK out of the pen last year.
Vargas (possible long man if he's bumped from the rotation)

Are the mets favorites for Justin Wilson? The reports I see show 6 or 7 teams interested in him.

I think they'll sign 1 or 2 others and I still think Matz could see some pen time unless he steps up as a starter.

A little early for a good projection I think.

One of those league minimum guys is in the discussion for best reliever in baseball, and another was one of the biggest surprises in baseball last year.

I think Santiago will be part of the pen. Maybe not for the entire season, but I think he's there for depth.

I think they go with a 7 Man bullpen vs 8.
This is the National League.

The New York Mets announced on Thursday they’ve signed LHP Luis Avilan to a minor league deal.

That’s a good pickup.

If he's healthy. Velocity was down almost 3 MPH last year.

Even with the deceased velocity, he was very effective. Around a 1-WAR pitcher.
