After being shutout for 8 innings on two hits, Daniel Murphy hit a three run ninth inning homer to push the Mets past the Miami Marlins 3-1. Dillon Gee pitched 7+innings of 1 run 6 hit ball to keep the Mets close. Juan Lagares continued his strong start with two more hits, raising his average to .316 on the season. BOX | RECAP

“We’re tired,” manager Terry Collins said of a Mets team that did not land in Miami until nearly 4 a.m. ET on Monday. “Make no mistake about it, we’re stinkin’ beat. So when you can have that surge of energy, that’s a huge pick-me-up.”
