Mets Lose Patience And Prospects

This past weekend, while their hopes for the present were fading away, the Mets lost patience for waiting on their future and traded Scott Kazmir, Matt Peterson, and Justin Huber for Kris Benson and Victor Zambrano. With rumors swirling about the who and the why, the reality turns out to be about the when, and the Mets unwillingness to wait for it.
September 2, 2010 - Scott Shaw started the opener of the doubleheader and allowed just an UER on a hit and 3 walks in 4 innings, he got a ND. Scott Moviel by FAR had his best start of the season, going 7 strong innings, allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 7 hits and just one walk for his 3rd win of the season.
August 31, 2010 - The Brooklyn Cyclones won the rubber game of a three-game series against the Connecticut Tigers by a score of 6-1 on Monday night bringing their overall record to 45-22.
August 31, 2010 - Jenrry. Mejia. This time in Buffalo, had another oustanding outing, the most impressive of his last 3 by far, he went 8 innings, allowing a run on 5 hits with 9 strikeouts for a tough ND.
August 30, 2010 - Zach Lutz, who grew up in the Reading area, broke a ninth-inning deadlock with a towering two-run blast to left, propelling Binghamton past the R-Phils 4-2 Sunday afternoon. The bomb ensured that Mark Cohoon would be rewarded with his fourth straight win after tossing eight and allowing two unearned runs.
August 30, 2010 - Mark Cohoon's excellent string of starts in Binghamton reached 4 in a row, he's got 7 or more in 3 of those 4, and finishes off his month of August 4-0, with a 1.60 era.
August 29, 2010 - The Brooklyn Cyclones (44-21) clinched the 2010 McNamara Division title with a dominating 10-0 win over the Connecticut Tigers. The division title is Brooklyn's fifth in 10 seasons, and the first since the 2007 campaign.
August 29, 2010 - The Savannah Sand Gnats won their third straight game over the Charleston RiverDogs in a suspenseful 3-2 victory on Saturday night. Reliever Brandon Sage got out of a bases-loaded one-out jam in the eighth inning to preserve a strong effort from starter Armando Rodriguez.
August 29, 2010 - The B-Mets split a doubleheader with Reading Saturday night, winning Game 1 by a 4-3 score, before falling in walk-off fashion, 5-4 in nine innings in Game 2. Ramirez tied a career-high with five, shutout innings as the spot starter in the nightcap and struck out a career-best seven, but did not factor in the decision.
August 28, 2010 - The Sand Gnats swept a doubleheader from the RiverDogs by scores of 5-3 and 2-1 Friday night. The Gnats bats busted out for a pair of home runs in game one, while Gonzalez German, in his South Atlantic League debut, tossed a complete game three-hitter in the nightcap.
