The Mets won an improbable eighth straight yesterday, exploding for 7 runs and then holding on for a 7-6 win over the Marlins. The win came at a price, though, as catcher Travis d’Arnaud and reliever Jerry Blevins were injured during the game. d’Arnaud breaking his hand when he was hit by a pitch, and Blevins fracturing his arm when he was hit with a line drive. The Mets got the win despite Matt Harvey fighting thru not feeling well and allowing four runs in 6 innings. both d’Arnaud and Juan Lagares had two hits in the game. BOX | RECAP

“It wasn’t a good day. It’s good that we won. We’ll take that away and build for the next day. But it was a tough day for us, certainly.” — Mets manager Terry Collins, on losing Blevins and d’Arnaud.
