Carlos Beltran pulled Manager Terry Collins aside this morning and told him he’s ready to move to right field. Beltran, 33, had surgery last offseason and missed the bulk of the 2010 season while rehabbing his knee. He also missed the final week of the season due to discomfort in the same knee and has been on a limited program so far this spring. He’s not expected to appear in Spring Training games for at least another week.
Angel Pagan who manned center field last year in Beltran’s absence is the presumed starter with Beltran moving to right.
