The roundup for June 21st minor league games: Herd’s Jason Botts buries Bulls with homer, triple and double; Binghamton let late lead slip away; St. Lucie one-hit Stone Crabs, win 9-0; Gnats have an off day for the SAL All-Star Break; and the Luke Stewart and Cyclones walk off with win.

Buffalo Bisons
A near-cycle by Jason Botts, four Nick Evans hits and a quality start by Chris Schwinden helped the Bisons even the series with a game two 9-1win over the Bulls Tuesday night in Durham.

Buffalo jumped on Bulls starter Lance Cormier early, benefitting from a pair of Durham mistakes.  After Luis Figueroa reached on an error by Durham second baseman Felipe Lopez and a Michael Fisher single, Cormier balked in the game’s first run. Buffalo took a second run when Valentino Pascucci hit into a double play with Fisher on second and Zach Lutz, who singled, on first.

Binghamton Mets
Six of Akron’s seven walks turned into runs in a 10-8 win over the Binghamton Mets last night at NYSEG Stadium.  The B-Mets held a 6-2 lead until the Aeros put up six runs in the eighth inning. After retiring five straight, reliever Brandon Sage walked a pair and was chased from the game on Juan Apodaca’s double.

St. Lucie Mets
The St. Lucie Mets made it three wins in a row with a 9-0 victory over the Charlotte Stone Crabs Tuesday morning at Digital Domain Park. The win puts the Mets at 37-32 on the season with only one game remaining in the first half of the FSL season.

Darin Gorski got the start for the Mets and was lights out. Gorski cruised through six innings allowing only one hit while striking out six en route to his fifth win on the season. St. Lucie put the game out of reach early, jumping all over each of the three Stone Crab pitchers. Already leading, 1-0, Stefan Welch made it a 4-0 game with his ninth home run of the season, a three-run blast in the third inning. Rylan Sandoval had himself a day at the plate, hitting two home runs on the day. One, a Grand Slam in the sixth inning and followed it up with a solo shot in the eighth inning to cap off the Mets scoring in the 9-0 win.
