Member of the 1986 World Champion Mets. Ron Darling is from Honolulu HI. Ron was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 1st round (9th pick) of the 1981 amateur draft. on April 1, 1982 He was traded by the Texas Rangers with Walt Terrell to the Mets for Lee Mazzilli. he spent 8 1/2 seasons as the #2 starter for the Mets until he was traded with Mike Thomas to the Montreal Expos for Tim Burke on July 15, 1991. Ron is currently an announcer for the Mets.
