William Lamar Beane (born March 29, 1962 in Orlando, Florida) was drafted by the Mets in the 1st round (23rd overall) of the 1980 amateur draft. Beane spent four and a half seasons in the minor leagues before he made his major league debut on September 13, 1984. He only appeared in a total of 13 games as a Met before he was traded to the Twins along with Joe Klink and Bill Latham for Pat Crosby and Tim Teufel.
