The Mets selected Brown in the 22nd round (662nd overall) of the 2010 amateur draft out of the University of South Alabama. He also played at Wallace State Community College and is a graduate of J.M. Tate High School. He was assigned to Kingsport to begin his pro career. Brown is a native of Cantonment, Florida.
