Bruce Chen :: P
2001 - 2002 | B: B | T: L | HT: 6-2 | WT: 210 | DOB: 6/19/1977

Bruce Chen (born June 19, 1977 in Panama City, Panama) was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Braves in 1993. Chen became one of the best pitching prospects in the Braves organization in the late 90‘s but struggled once he was called up to the big leagues. He was eventually traded to the Phillies. The Phillies in turn traded him to the Mets on July 27, 2001 with Adam Walker for Turk Wendell and Dennis Cook. Chen didn‘t last long as a Met either. He started a total of 11 games for the Mets before being traded to the Expos (now the Nationals) along with Saul Rivera, Luis Figueroa and Dicky Gonzalez for Matt Watson, Phil Seibel and Scott Strickland. Chen spent his 2006 season as a member of the Baltimore Orioles.
