The Mets signed Lee to a minor league contract prior to the 2005 season. He was originally a 23rd round selection of the Colorado Rockies in 1995. Since then he has made stops in the Padres, Twins, Dodgers, and Indians organizations. He has posted respectable numbers as a reliever in 5 prior years of MLB service as his career ERA is 4.37
