The Mets acquired Francoeur from the Atlanta Braves on July 10, 2009 in exchange for Ryan Church. The Atlanta native had been with the Braves since being selected 23rd overall in the 2002 amateur draft out of Parkview High School. He was traded to the Texas Rangers on August 31, 2010 in exchange for Joaquin Arias.
