Selected by New York Mets in 3rd Round (106th Overall) of 1999 amateur draft, Griffiths has progressed quickly through the Mets system, dominating AAA hitters in 2003 with a 2.74 ERA before getting his first Major League experience later that season. Griffiths made his major league debut on June 5, 2003 and pitched two scorless innings in relief. Jeremy made six starts for the Mets in 2003 and struggled to the tune of a 7.02 ERA. He was traded to the Houston Astros on June 17, 2004 with David Weathers for Richard Hidalgo. Griffiths struggled with the Astros in the two seasons he pitched for them. Griffiths did not play baseball in 2006.
