The Mets took Mulvey with their first pick(62nd overall) in the 2006 draft. The New Jersey native is a product of Villanova University and made his pro debut for the Mets in 2006 playing in Binghamton and in the GCL. Mulvey was promoted to AAA for the end of the 2007 season and pitched in the PCL playoffs. Mulvey was traded to the Minnesota Twins on February 2, 2008 in a package for Johan Santana. He was re-signed to a minor league deal in March 2012.
