The Mets took Pugh with their 15th round selection (452nd overall) in the 2010 amateur draft out of Sonoma State. He also attended Arizona State, Pepperdine, and Gateway Community College. Pugh was hit by a pitch in his first ever plate appearance and suffered a serious facial injury. He is a native of Oakland, California. Pugh was released on 5/18/12 after struggling with Savannah.
