The Mets scored 2 in the first, and tacked on runs in the 3rd, 6th and 9th, to win for just the 12th time this year, 5-1. Dillon Gee was the catalyst tonight, matching his season long for an outing, 7 innings, allowing just 4 hits and a run, to pick up his 3rd win of the year. Emary Frederick worked the final 2 innings for his first save.

Greg Veloz has been otherworldly in the last week, racking up multi hit games like they're going out of style. He's had at least 2 hits in 6 of his last 8 games, hitting a scorching .405 during that span (15 for 37) with 5 2b, 3b, 11 RBI (.595 SLG). Jose Jimenez out of the 4 hole has also been raking, he's hitting .357 over his last 11 games (he had 3 hits today). Veloz and Jimenez both had multi hit games today to lead the Gnats offense, while Jacob Elgsti (0 for 4, 2 Ks, .227) took the only 0-fer.
Elvin Ramirez started and was magnificant again, only allowing 2 hits and a run over 7 terrific innings, but he took a ND, due to an UER given up by Steven Cheney in the 8th. Edgar Ramirez worked a scoreless 11th to pick up his 3rd win.
Elvin's alternated good start, bad start in May (except for his last 2, which have been great (13.2 ip, 8 h, er, 4/9 bb/k, .68 era)), but his good have been really good, so his overall May numbers are good, a 3-2 record with a 2.36 era, 6 GS, 34.1 IP, 29 H, 12 R, 9 ER, HR, 12/26 BB/K, 2.80 GO/FO, .225 BAA, 1.19 WHIP
