Mets Fire Willie, Peterson

The Mets fired Manager Willie Randolph this morning, along with coaches Rick Peterson and Tom Nieto and named Jerry Manuel interim Manager. New Orleans Zephyrs (AAA) Manager Ken Oberkfell, pitching coach Dan Warthen and minor league field coordinator Luis Aguayo will join the staff. The Mets officially fired Randolph at just past 3am Eastern time despite a 9-6 win in Anaheim against the Angels last night, and the Mets having won 3 of their last four. Omar Minaya is scheduled to hopld a press conference tuesday at 5pm to officially announce the change.
