Al Reyes inks MnL Deal

The Mets have signed righthander Al Reyes to a minor league contract. Reyes will be assigned to the Binghamton Mets (AA).
Al Reyes was 2-2 with a 4.37 ERA in 26 games with the Tampa Bay Rays prior to being designated for assignment on August 9th. In 13 major league seasons, Reyes has posted a 23-16 record with a 3.82 ERA in 384 games. In 428.2 innings of work he has allowed 190 runs, 182 earned, on 340 hits while walking 195 and striking out 422.
The thirty-eight year old was born in San Cristobal, Dominican Republic. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Montreal Expos in 1988 and made his first MLB appearance on April 27, 1995 for the Brewers.
