Mini Camp Photos (98 pics)

By Ed Tsunoda
January 11, 2007 -

Day two of mini camp had less big name pinache than day one, with no David Wright and no Pedro Martinez, but that's not what people come to NYFS for anyway. It's the new guys, and there a bunch of them.

NYFS snagged a first look at 17 year old catching prospect Francisco Pena, the smooth glove work of Hector Pellot, and the first action pics of John Maine in our database.

Pena - who's father Tony Pena is an ex-Major Leaguer and Yankees coach, turned 17 last October and is one of the highly touted young prospects in the Mets system, joining fellow youngsters Fernando Martinez and Deolis Guerra as teen phenoms.

Fresh off being named the player with the best plate discipline in the system, Corey Coles was at the camp, and Mets hierarchy including Willie Randolph and Tony Bernazzard made appearances.

So without any further ado, the first NYFS photos of 2007.

Enjoy.
